Walk Through:
A One-Night Fine-Art Exhibition

October 22, 2026 | Gibbes Museum of Art

There comes a moment when the life you have been living can no longer continue as it has been.

CINÉ curates Walk Through, a fine-art exhibition at the Gibbes Museum of Art built around this threshold. The exhibition moves through the terrifying edge of change, the long and imperfect work of building something better, and the beauty, softness, and quiet pride that can exist on the other side.

Presented in support of My Sister's House, Walk Through tells a story of Reclamation, Resilience, and Respite. One sacred room grounds the journey in the lived realities of survivors of domestic violence, reminding us that for some, this exhibition is not metaphor. It is survival.

The Invitation

A night that unfolds in layers

The evening begins with a welcoming champagne reception before guests enter the exhibition in a timed cadence, intimate and unhurried.

The exhibition itself is the heart of the night. Original works by a curated roster of local and national artists shape the emotional world of Walk Through. Guests move through the first moment of epiphany, the long and difficult middle of change, and the quiet grace that can emerge on the other side. Each space is layered with original artwork, music, and atmosphere.

Beyond the exhibition, the salon remains alive throughout the night with live music, working artists, and a looping film tied to the making of the work. Later in the evening, the room gathers for remarks, a theatrical dessert reveal, and a live auction of select works.

Original work is available for acquisition through advance collector preview and on the night of the event.

FAQ

What kind of evening is this?

Walk Through is an immersive evening of art, atmosphere, and live experience. Guests move through the exhibition, then return to a salon alive throughout the night with live music, working artists, and original work available for acquisition. Dinner, drinks, and dessert will be served throughout the evening through passed bites and curated food stations, but this is not a seated gala or formal dinner. Whether you come to collect or simply to experience the evening, the event is designed to be moving, beautiful, and memorable.

The event benefits My Sister’s House, a Charleston nonprofit that supports survivors of domestic violence and their children through shelter, advocacy, and therapy services.

What will I experience?

The evening is emotionally resonant and thoughtfully composed. Guests move through three stages: Reclamation, Resilience, and Respite. From the first break with what has been, through the difficult middle of change, to the beauty and quiet joy that can exist on the other side. The path is not always linear.

Each exhibition room layers original artwork, music, and atmosphere. A separate, dedicated room is available throughout the evening for guests who wish to spend time with the lived realities at the heart of this exhibition. It is clearly marked and open all night.

Beyond the exhibition, the salon remains vibrant throughout the night with live music, working artists, and a looped film tied to the making of the work. Later in the evening, the room gathers for remarks, dessert, and a live auction of select pieces. The night ends as it should—full of energy, beauty, conversation, and celebration.

Will artwork be available for purchase?

Yes. The exhibition will feature more than 85 original works by a tightly-curated roster of local and national artists available for acquisition. Collectors may acquire work through preview access in advance or on the night of the event.

Collectors interested in preview access may inquire at Kacey@CineCreativeHouse.com.

What should I wear?

Guests are encouraged to dress for an elevated evening at the museum. Creative black tie is encouraged.
